Again, we can’t say it enough: please – please – PLEEEZZZ – SHARE with your friends & family – ANYBODY you think might have an interest in – or appreciate – seeing a production like this come to fruition. The Good News keeps coming: our Facebook page (now – at this writing – over 2,511 Likes!). There are GREAT REWARDS for everybody’s pledges. We put them together initially, then went back over them, dissected each & every one (wanting to make them both special & different). They are very, very unique which you will be able to see for yourself very shortly. The T-shirts developed for the project are very sweet – there are several prototype designs – which our Ambassadors of Goodwill by Special Arrangement will be seeing first!

In the natural progression of things, THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death will lead to a full-length feature film. Ideas for this have been banging around up in the belfry for a while now & they are coming together. The fascinating thing is that it’s such a unique period in history and there was so much happening in Europe at the time: the Teutonic Knights had their hands full with two major campaigns and a third which they eagerly were looking to get involved in: the first was of course the Mongolian Invasion, which destroyed large parts of Russia, Kiev (in Ukraine), Hungary, and Poland. Led by Batu Khan – grandson of the legendary Genghis Khan – and his top general Subutai, the Mongolians swept everything before them. They proved to be the finest light cavalry in Europe at the time. Their armor – rather than metal – was studded leather uppers under which they wore a silk shirt. The brilliance of the latter is that upon being hit by an arrow the silk would wrap around the arrowhead and keep it from penetrating too deeply into the body. Moreover, this made the arrowhead much easier to extract. The bow they used was a special design:
The Mongol bow is a recurved composite bow renowned for its military effectiveness. The old Mongolian bows that were used during the times of Genghis Khan were smaller than the modern weapons used at most Naadam festivals today. Modern Mongolian bows are larger and have string bridges.
Mongolian Archery is still very much alive, see here. In addition, “The Mongol bow is not as large and long as the English one, but it is vastly more powerful. The draw weight of an English longbow averages around 70-80 pounds, whereas the Old Mongol bow had a pull that averaged at around 166 pounds.”
The other campaign the Teutonic Knights had to worry about was that of the continued uprisings in Prussia of the pagans & the original Teutonic holding in the Holy Land at Acre. So you see there was much ado about, and not nearly enough knights to handle the load. In these European conflicts, different orders had to team together (such as at Liegnitz for example) to assemble (as it turned out not enough) force to stop the stampeding Mongolians.

Historical research is well under way, and the environment is rippled through & through with story potential. As previously mentioned, THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death has definite film franchise potential.
God willing, that’s where we’re headed!
Stay tuned & spread the word!!!
