As of today – Dec 30th – there are 16 days before THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death goes active on Indiegogo.com. That’s when all of you who have supported the project up to this time and been “Liking” our page over on Facebook, please pledge and spread the word!!! That’s the key to our success in getting this project both funded & completed & this is one that needs to be completed. It bespeaks of – hopefully – a new era in entertainment. Knowing history as we do, we also know there is no more entertaining drama than to be found in the annals of the human trek throughout world history. Unfortunately, man’s inhumanity to his fellow man has written volumes and many of those tomes have yet to be cracked open.

Just spoke this morning with Ambassador of Goodwill by Special Arrangement Paul Stephen Spratt and mentioned as much: there’s no “Hollywood Copycats” here, what we’re doing with this is 100% totally original: original script based in actual events, steeped in the language & values of the time. One thing you can be sure of with any QuarterDeck project: we stay true to the values of the times in which the projects are set, we will not change (for “politically correct” expediency)  the mores or the values simply to make something  more “palatable” to a present day audience. To do so would be an egregious violation of what a historian is supposed to stand for: relating history as it happened from reliable accounts that have stood the test of time. When a historian goes off and starts whitewashing an event in history for any reason: personal bias, societal mores, etc., it – in effect – turns him into nothing more than a liar. We can’t relate to them.

Moreover – as I mentioned to Ambassador Spratt – we’re working on a full length feature for THE MARSCHER LORDS: Brotherhood or Death, and this has very real possibilities of a franchise. So all of you Ambassadors of Goodwill are really in on the ground floor of something quite unique: this isn’t just a one-shot production deal. There’s a very real potential of a franchise here and all the other productions notwithstanding. In the “Achtung-Panzer” post, I mentioned the feature  Scorched Earth:The Other Side of World War II , something like this hasn’t been done since  Das Boot  or Stalingrad (if we’re missing anything – our mistake) .  But – to be truthful –  Scorched Earth  owes more to Sam Peckinpah’s incomparable  Cross of Iron  than it does either of the two aforementioned. Hence the scouting out & success in finding two real T-34/85’s!!!

There are fantastic, engaging, actual historical tales out there to be told and NOBODY’S telling them. Make no mistake – we’re not complaining, as that leaves the field wide open – for us! ;<) Our “competitors”, if you want to call them that, can be bested. Our ” schwerpunkt ” – “point of main effort” – if you will is to tell terrific stories in excellently crafted productions, something that we can all be proud of ( it better be if our names are on it!!! ) and bequeath to the ages.
