It’s official!!!
THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death is now officially its own corporation!!! As now are all QuarterDeck Production Corp. projects!!! Thank you QuarterDeck CFO Ruby Emerald Diamond for all your knowledge, diligence, & expertise in cutting through all the bureaucratic red tape!!! As heretofore stated, she really is a pure Gem!!! Filmmakers should always form their projects as corporations, as it gives your potential investor knowledge that you are operating on a professional basis & security that you’re not some fly-by-night operation.
Meanwhile, das Panzer Jagd geht weiter – the Tank Hunt continues. Just spoke with the wonderful Allan D. Cors, Chairman, Board of Trustees, National Museum of Americans in Wartime and come to find out they own & operate two T-34/85’s!!! Moreover, they’ve have grounds available for rent & shooting!!! As we are looking for a topography similar to that of the Ukraine hopefully for the trailer (first up), and then the feature. It just may be a fit. Not bad, eh? And I can’t leave out the fact that they are located within about an hour’s drive of my hometown of Annapolis, MD. Here’s a link to a terrific article done on them by The Daily Mail that came out just this past August.
Serendipity happens.
Now we continue to hammer out the budget for the trailer and finalize it as much as possible. Trouble with budgets? – they always tend to evolve – ever upward. And these things have to be thought out, it’s so easy to forget things that are necessary: for example, to have a shell-blasted, blown up landscape that looks as though its been fought over for months, it needs to be prepped. You need wire entanglements, stakes to wrap the barbed wire to, anti-tank obstacles, trenches, sandbags, etc. This is where Set Design comes in. If it doesn’t look real, it’s not worth doing (see previous post re: turning T-34’s into Mk VI “Tigers”).
We should make further mention of the Americans in Wartime Museum goal, and that is to “Honor. Inspire. Educate.” by
telling the remarkable stories of American men and women who served during wartime – in all branches of the military and on the home front, from World War I to the present.
A more noble & noteworthy goal we cannot fathom. Preserving history – as it happened – for those that come after is to assure their hopeful understanding of the future. That’s in simpatico with QuarterDeck Production Corp’s mission: relate what has gone before, make it fun, engaging, & entertaining.
Serendipity Happens.
Stay tuned, more to come. And when in Annapolis, MD, make sure you stop by Middleton’s Tavern. It truly is one of those real places that can honestly say “George Washington Slept Here”. Besides which, their food & drink are top notch. Have a Dark-n-Stormy while you’re at the bar, you won’t regret it.
