Masters of War: Soldiers of Distinction One Sheet

No, it’s not what you might think, it’s the “Masters of War: Soldiers of Distinction” teaser shoot is tomorrow!!! Thanks to the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA  for their graciousness in allowing us to utilize their facilities. The venerable David Hansen-Sturm is lensing it, with  Colonel F. Lee Reynolds USAR  onboard doing (what they call) Host Narrative.  His experiences from his multiple tours of Iraq will prove invaluable. Gordon Hearne, who is president of the Southern California Chapter of the Battle of the Bulge Veterans will appear in it also, but we’ll be shooting him in a different locale.  Been going back and forth with Mo Fitzgibbon (of Walker-Fitzgibbon.com) re: wardrobe. She’s wants the “Steve McQueen” look for this; black turtleneck, black jeans, my erstwhile boots. Have a great location scouted out, the USS Enterprise CV-6 Hangar. All dressed up like a carrier deck circa World War II. In there you’ll see several interesting relics of history: Douglas SBD Dauntless Dive-Bomber (victor of Midway), Chance-Vought F4-U Corsair, and a Grumman TBM Avenger Torpedo Bomber. Exactly the type of aircraft you don’t see everyday. Sorry to say, the Museum lost its Grumman F6F Hellcat in a crash a year or two ago. The Japanese A6M Zero held sway until the F6F came along. Navy & Marine pilots dubbed it “the Zero Killler”; up to the time of its debut (1943) was the only Allied aircraft that could out-climb and out-turn the venerated A6M in a dogfight.

Getting really busy here: in addition to the above there’s THE MARSCHER LORDS: Brotherhood or Death which is generating a ton of interest (finding out the kickstarter campaign was done a little out-of-sequence; no worries. Live & Learn, n’est pas?). Then shoot a trailer for Scorched Earth: The Other Side of World War II. Not a teaser, a trailer. Whole different thing. In effect a mini-movie. It takes place on the Russian Front, circa 1942. Then there’s a trailer for The Forty Days, about the American Civil War, and then a trailer for All the Iron Men. Oh boy: a World War II submarine picture. Now THAT’S going to be interesting. Have to bring in Sir Brick on that one too! As well as Order of the Valiant and hell, we’ve got to shoot the actual production of Scorched Earth: the Other Side of World War II! Whew! Just thinkin’ about it has me going in about eighteen different directions.  This is what’s known as Getting it in the Bag!!! All of it!!! To attract $$ you’ve got to get your stuff in front of people and engage them on an emotional level.

It’s all good. It’s all doable. Building a trusted team and integrating them is the key on all levels. Looking forward to making (& having) things happen. All these projects are new, untold, and completely in virgin territory. That’s good for us, good for you, and good for the pubic at large. Won’t see any same-same-same here. There’s too much original ground left to be broken.

That’s why we’re all about…
